The overwhelming majority of iSeries Navigator is C++ not Java. Java is mostly used in some of the configuration wizards that have been added. That being said, it does load a JVM at startup. My point is do not paint Java with this brush just because any single app happens to be slow. Especially in this case, since the app in question is mostly not Java and was ungodly slow for years before it ever even used Java. There are many, many Java apps the are small and fast.
