We did report it... it was IBM Service that recommended we fix it via the text based files. I asked if it was a bug that it didn't show in the GUI and never really got an answer. I would vote for the red triangle rather than hiding them. ;) Jeffrey Stevens <jeff1132@charter .net> To Sent by: midrange-l@xxxxxxxxxxxx midrange-l-bounce cc s@xxxxxxxxxxxx Subject Re: Maintaining the DNS on the i5 10/09/2005 10:24 AM Please respond to Midrange Systems Technical Discussion <midrange-l@midra nge.com> ChadB@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx wrote: > The DNS redbook has a mention that the records should preferably always be > edited via the Ops Nav interface, but i've found a few situations otherwise > (with the help of IBM Service). I have found that I can't know how customers are using DNS unless they report problems, and then we can see the usability issues. The problem with the gui is it doesn't know how to handle what it thinks are "errors" and therefore hides or throws a red triangle error icon. -- Jeffrey Stevens gpg --keyserver pgp.mit.edu --recv-keys D2E5A4E8 Key fingerprint: 1C86 8717 E485 FA4D B9EF 96E2 A1AC 4B00 D2E5 A4E8 -- This is the Midrange Systems Technical Discussion (MIDRANGE-L) mailing list To post a message email: MIDRANGE-L@xxxxxxxxxxxx To subscribe, unsubscribe, or change list options, visit: http://lists.midrange.com/mailman/listinfo/midrange-l or email: MIDRANGE-L-request@xxxxxxxxxxxx Before posting, please take a moment to review the archives at http://archive.midrange.com/midrange-l. _____________________________________________________________________________ Scanned by IBM Email Security Management Services powered by MessageLabs.
