Vern, Yep, you are correct. However, as you know, with REXX you could check for any character string combination you like that would tell you something happened or didn't and thereby make your status checking multi-platform, at least in the IBM world. I'm not politically correct most of the time so I won't say all those other "merry" or "happy" sayings because they are not tradition in this country and probably won't be in the foreseeable future.
