One other point to consider about RGZPFM. If you really don't need the file in arrival sequence (which I've not seen a need for outside of some EDI applications), then you may increase performance by using either the physical file, if keyed, or a logical file with the key most used (and no selection criteria) in the KEYFILE parameter of RGZPFM.
