Simple way to test,

find a typical library on your system (one that you dont mind locking),
do a DSPLIB *PRINT to get the exact size,
SAVLIB the library to a SAVF,
look at the size of the SAVF and if the sizes are the same, you have your
answer

If you need zip like compression, use the JAVA command. There are articles
online on how to use JAVA to perform zips on Iseries
