<snip> Lpar may be the best "for now", but it's still a pain when you want to access the same objects for people from multiple timezones. Like trying to get join logicals or sql views to span systems. </snip> SQL can connect to multiple databases, and if you are using the indexing and SQE correctly, the views loose appeal quickly. Stored procedures set up as services accomplish security. It occurs to me that you just gave one of the best arguments for an SOA environment that I can think of. Link applications together with services and forget where and what time zone the service is running from. End of problem, and massive change to i5/OS. Not to suggest that IBM should abandon any ideas of implementing some of the topics Bruce discussed earlier of course..... Jim
