I assume by "certain type of record" that you are not talking about different formats. If it is a field with a certain value, or some character in a field, then Jerry's suggestion works. But, as he says, it is limited to exactly one set of data, and if you need to change the company, SQL might be better. Or just build the key over everything and do a SETLL/READE/CHAIN kind of thing.

It seems there is more to this story - it'd help to have the subtext.
