Steve, Check out how they have reworked and streamlined the call stack in win64: > > http://msdn.microsoft.com/msdnmag/issues/06/05/x64/default.aspx Where in the first paragraph is says, in part: "While we developers would like to think that moving to x64 is just a recompile away, the reality is that we'll still spend far too much time in the debugger. A good working knowledge of the OS and CPU is invaluable." Contrast that with the OS/400 move to 64 bits over ten years ago now, where it wasn't even just a recompile away -- it was just a restore away unless you had removed observability. And even then it really was only a recompile away. Where do people get the idea that the iSeries system is so obsolete? Doug
