I like the way you phrased that last line... since i'm choosing a computer to manage my computers, I want to pick the best one, I guess... ;) "Jim Damato" <jdamato@dollarge neral.com> To Sent by: "Midrange Systems Technical midrange-l-bounce Discussion" s@xxxxxxxxxxxx <midrange-l@xxxxxxxxxxxx> cc 05/15/2006 02:21 Subject PM RE: HMC or LAN Console Please respond to Midrange Systems Technical Discussion <midrange-l@midra nge.com> Was your twinax grief from a twinax console or support of a twinax terminal environment? I've run twinax consoles for years and enjoyed the stability. We still run a twinax console on a 530. We love our HMC-managed 570 and the advanced management features. It has, however, locked up once, crashed once and done some unpredictable things. I would never give up the HMC, but it does require its own updates, maintenance, care and feeding. I think a twinax console and spare console on a shelf is a great way to go if you don't feel like managing a computer to manage your computers. -----Original Message----- From: midrange-l-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:midrange-l-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of rob@xxxxxxxxx Sent: Monday, May 15, 2006 11:07 AM To: Midrange Systems Technical Discussion Subject: Re: HMC or LAN Console True, hmc's and op's console almost never ever break compared to all the grief we had with twinax.
