That technote is a good find - I'd not come across it when I was investigating this problem. Shame that it's apparently not IBM at fault too. I'd put faith in them doing a fix, but not MS.

When I reported it back in September, IBM suggested things like switching anti-virus software off when installing Client Access, deleting the users TEMP folder and giving the user higher authority on the PC. None of these things helped for me. Shame it's present in v5r4 as well - we get at least one call a week about it here.
