Take a look at http://www.staffkit.com/learn/series/rpgivpl4lc.htm -- for a reasonable fee, you can access this on-line courseware for one year. You can use it with or without the corresponding textbook (available here: http://www.iseriesnetwork.com/str/books/Uniquebook2.cfm?NextBook=180) from which it was created. It's like taking an on-line course, with quizzes and exercises ... The student needs access to an AS/400 or iSeries to can work on the suggested programming exercises and assignments, etc.

Help, I have a 17 yr old who has nearly completed his CCNA and now would like to
learn RPG / AS400 (nom du jour) programming. He has listened to his dad & I
talk about how there will be a shortage of programmers when I reach retirement age.
He would like to be there to step into the gap.

I have access to a 150 that I can set up at home for him to start learning on. But I need some suggestions for books, preferably classroom style, that he can start working on.
TIA for suggestions.
