I didn't know that would work. I will pass this information to the Tivoli guys here. Joel B. 5. Changing from Password Level 0 to password Level 2 (Harvell,
Joel)
date: Fri, 4 Aug 2006 15:27:54 -0400 We are in the process of installing TIM - Tivoli Identity Manager here at our facility. The TIM software will manage passwords for The AS400, mainframe, Active directory, & lotus notes. Our AS400s are currently
at
Password level 0. (system value - QPWDLVL) Password level 0 will only allow a character in the first position of the password field. As part of the TIM install we have a need to have a numeric value in the 1st position of the password field.
Joel: I didn't see a good reply after catching up on the list today. I'm not clear exactly what your problem is. QPWDLVL=0 does allow numeric-only passwords; it's just that the passwords must be _set_ by prepending the single character 'Q'. For example, if you want your password to be [123456], you set the password as [Q123456]. But perhaps the problem is that the TIM interface is somehow interfering? Can you clarify? Tom Liotta
