All our users have mapped drives to network server (H: drives). When we do this type of option we have them put the file on their H: drive and then kick off an app from their AS/400 menus. The app will FTP to the network file server, change directory to the users H: drive folder and GET the file. You could use the IFS via a mapped drive also and change the ftp get to a copy stream file. We did not want to give all our users authority to start a FTP session on the iSeries and run a remote call - too dangerous as they could submit a DLTLIB *ALL

What is the best, most graceful way to import PC data and then run a CLP program? It occurs to me that there are several ways to do this, and a discussion might prove educational and fun. The person runs a PC program, creating a PC file. This file must go to the iSeries once a week, and then be processed by a CLP program/ Ideas? Suggestions? Fantastic solutions?
