We used to do a weekly full system save followed by an IPL. We now do
both monthly instead and have noticed no effects from the change other
than a few more hours of uptime each week.

Subject: Question - Your IPL Frequency

Hi All,

I noticed a small discussion on when to IPL a system. I wanted to take
a quick poll to see how often everyone here IPLs their systems?

Right now, our system is set up to perform a full system backup and IPL
immediately after this (it's done during non-production hours, so it
doesn't affect operations) on a weekly basis. Is weekly too frequent
for a new 520 box, or does it matter considering that it does not affect
the operations?

Thanks,

Brian.
