At some version of i5/os IBM put a funky security attribute on some 
directories.  Especially /tmp.  The theory was that in the Unix world the 
/tmp directory is a perversion of the qtemp library.  In Unix everyone 
shares that directory.  And you can see everyones data in that directory. 
You just can't rename or delete someone else's file.  Now, in iSeries 
email, some user gen's an email and a temporary file is created in /tmp. 
Then, either MSF or SMTP try to process that (under a different user id as 
a background batch job).  They can't because of this attribute.

Now, if you did not upgrade your 820's os prior to the upgrade AND follow 
appendix D of the Backup and Recovery Guide for moving over to the 520 but 
instead got there on a wing and a prayer you may have to change some of 
your attributes.  See:
