Now there's an interesting thought.  The listing would presumably 
show up in the f.t.p. log file.

Don't know if your requirements dictate CL, but take a look at Scott 
Klement's FTP service program (www.scottklement.com/ftpapi/).  When used 
from RPG, your RPG program can act as an FTP client and handle the results 
from the 'ls' command directly.  I found this method much easier than 
parsing an FTP log from CL.
