I'll second that - their presentations on XML give a good introduction. If you want to get started before you have a chance to see one of these presentations, they also recommend a book in their slides. IIRC, the book they recommend is "XML for the World Wide Web" by Elizabeth Castro. I can't comment on this book specifically, but I've used Ms. Castro's book on the Perl language. I found it easy to understand and relatively fun to read. It was also fairly inexpensive (which was good as it was a textbook for one of my classes). My one complaint was that it was very much targeted at the beginner, so it was a bit slow for me as I had some knowledge of Perl already - YMMV. As for a website, I've found the W3C website very useful in the past for other open standards. They give the (very technical) specifications for the language, and links to learning resources. www.w3schools.com has also been useful for me in the past (I've only used it as a quick reference for XML, but learned quite a bit of XHTML/CSS from the W3C - w3schools combo).
