Here's something that may be directly related to QRYSLT on a unicode field, (sounds also like why the MAPFLD worked): http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/iseries/v5r4/topic/db2/rbafzmstccseta.htm#ccseta ... Since multiple representations of the same character will not compare equal, it is usually not a good idea to store both forms of the characters in the database. ...
