I had a problem a while back and IBM and I went around and around. IIRC, if
you have a local account on that server with the same authentication
information, it will work fine. If you don't, then you need a GUEST local
account on the server. Then your authentication should work fine. The
problems is that your network Admin person won't like any of your ideas. I
was working with an NT server, but I don't know how much that changes IBM's
approach. It seems to me that they first needed to make a connection so they
could exchange the actual authentication. And that had to be done through
either a local account or a guest account.
