Would below work for you? Create a program that do the following 1) WRKJOBQ JOBQ(XXXX) OUTPUT(*PRINT) 2) Parse out those jobs in the spool file from #1. 3) Use job attr api to determine how long those jobs have been in the JOB. Send you a page if it is too long.
Thanks - that's a good idea. We already do something similar for certain important job queues. SMS messages are sent to the Treo that the on-call person has. This is disabled during 'sleeping hours' however (~10pm-6am). We figure if something is really holding up the users they will page us, and this is almost always true. It wasn't anything critical this morning, we're just trying to be complete and determine exactly what was held up. I'm actually sort of happy that the pager didn't go off. Nothing critical was held up, and perhaps more importantly - I was the one on-call last night! :) I appreciate all the suggestions - right now I'm working on the DSPLOG solution posed by Alexei. ##################################################################################### Attention: The above message and/or attachment(s) is private and confidential and is intended only for the people for which it is addressed.
