If you buy direct from IBM I'm not sure you will realize any discount.
It's through a BP that discounts are provided. Contact me off-list if
you'd like a reference.

Subject: IBM Hardware Maintenance Quotations

Has anyone noticed a change in the way IBM quotes HW maintenance in the
last couple of years? My last 2 quotations were done via fax and phone
and
the invoices have clearly listed the discount percentage I'm receiving
for
a long term contract.

The current contract expired end of 2006. I get an invoice for a
quarter's
maintenance. I ask for a quote for another 3 years. I then am doing
communications with a guy from IBM Brazil and cannot get him to tell me
what the discount is. His quotation lists none, he says he isn't
involved
with percentages but he's sure it's there. He then wants me to call an
800
number to find someone to tell me what the discount is.

Is this the way things are done now?
