There are many Forms Products available that will allow you
to bar code your variable spool data such as our FormFlex
product. 
FormFlex price is less then $3,000 (no tier pricing here)
Which makes it very affordable and probably cheaper then
writing your own code for several forms.

You can create the forms using MS Word and turn those into
AFP
overlays. You can then use overlays and page segments to
generate the
form. I like this method more than using forms packages, and
I've used
a few. Check the archives for more information.
