Interestingly enough, I have been able to ping all of the machines on the Network and the XP machines show a graphical icon to the Vista machine but won't allow me to connect with it across the Network. The Vista machine doesn't show anything but itself as elements of the Network. The two XP machines can share files and printers. Maybe tomorrow we will be able to peal the onion.
have you disabled the firewall on the Vista PC? also, I upgraded from XP to Vista and Vista changed the IP of the PC from being statically assigned to dynamic. Each time I boot Vista I get a different IP.
