Thanks guys, our SAP BASIS guy (who knows nothing about the iSeries) was asking me about some PTFs and I had to ask him if PASE was being used as the cover letter addressed this. Even the IBM Global SAP guy didn't have a clue. I'm going with NO we don't use PASE. -- Doug Hart -----Original Message----- From: midrange-l-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:midrange-l-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Scott Klement Sent: Thursday, February 22, 2007 6:47 PM To: Midrange Systems Technical Discussion Subject: Re: Is PASE Running Yep... PASE is an environment. Just like ILE and OPM are environments. You can't check to see if ILE is running. You can't check to see if OPM is running. You can't check to see if PASE is running. They're not programs, you don't run them. They're environments. vhamberg@xxxxxxxxxxx wrote:
Basically PASE is an "environment" - that's the "E" - it's not really running all the time as such, as I see it. Multiple people can be using the environment pretty independently. There are 2 variants of QP2SHELL - one starts a new activation group, the other runs in the caller's activation group.
