Make sure when you go home for the night to kick-off a STRASPBAL to get
the data scattered.

It's fine - there's absolutely no reason to have the thing down the
whole time. Do it while it's running, there won't be any troubles.

Subject: Starting RAID5 and adding to the asp using SST while the system
is up.

Greetings,

I am looking at adding 15 new drives to one of my 520s this weekend. It
has been suggested that I go ahead and bring our system back up after
the drives are installed, then go into SST and start RAID5 and add the
disks to the ASP. I've always done that using DST while the system is
down. I know it is possible to start RAID5 and add to the ASP using SST
but I was wanting some input from people who have done this while their
system is running. How much fun is doing this going to be??

Thanks.
