I thought the journal itself had to be in QSYS, while the receivers can be anywhere you'd like. Can't find the doc to be sure of myself, and it is quite early on Monday yet. Justin C. Has anyone moved the audit journal to a library other than qsys? Any issues/problems when doing that? -----Original Message----- From: fbocch2595@xxxxxxx To: midrange-l@xxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Mon, 26 Mar 2007 7:11 AM Subject: Re: Longer Savsys? Hi Kirk, no to 1 and I'm on an 825. I checked BRM and since we turned on the audit journal the savsys has been running longer, why does updating the audit journal extend the runtime of savsys? Thanks -----Original Message----- From: kirkg@xxxxxxxxxxxxx To: midrange-l@xxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Sat, 24 Mar 2007 10:52 AM Subject: Re: Longer Savsys? #1 Did you IPL 'before' the save? The system sets a bit after it has touched an object for the first time. An IPL clears that bit. I've heard do an IPL and then save can make them longer. IBM suggests doing the IPL after any saves. #2 I haven't tried this to see, Are you running a 5xx? I thinking maybe the save kicked the in process to install Firmware PTFs (MHxxxxx)
