Rob - what do you mean about SSP 4 and 8?
I'm running SSP opt 8 AFP Compatibility Fonts on a V5R4 machine.
Not sure what 4 was, but 5 is the S36EE environment.
I do know the factory loaded OS will not include these options. I always
have to add them from the CD's and then redo ptfs.

I think they were referring to options 4 & 8 of SS1 that were dropped
after V5R2 (see my earlier email from today).

Searching ibm for S/36 migration gets you lost pretty quick.

What is the "old" conversion pgm?

I have to do one of these next month.

What's the best path?

The current V5R4..

Coming from a semi-real S/36(9402-436) is
going to require a little manual conversion and a recompile
but 95% of the stuff works.

I assume you are running 7.5 of the SSP ???

The old conversion program would be of a real value to you.
I recall somebody on the list that still has a older machine
with V4R2 or whatever.

If you lack any source code, that will make for a much longer
conversion.

(1) Recompile all RPGII. (a few minor changes)
(2) "Most" OCL runs "as is".
(3) Restore the data files.
(4) Compile screens
(5) Compile menus

Party On.....

What is the latest version of OS400 that supports the S36 environment?
One
of my clients on an old 436 box is FINALLY ready to make change to the
box.
I guess 2 disk crashes in 3 weeks might have helped!
