At one point, there was the AS/400 migration aid that "helped" migrate and point out any problems that the S/36EE might not handle. WSU was eliminated and there was some obscure comm commands but 95% of the S/36 stuff would go right over. DFU would even convert if you had the DFU source. I believe the aid was dropped back "about" V5R2.... You can certainly do it using "manual" methods. If you don't have a S/36 background, that will make it harder. The S/36EE has a few "odd" features that require a little screwing around with, but not enough to make you crazy. The great part is the ability to convert to native while you are running the S/36 stuff. You can have externally described files and the S/36 programs will use them just fine. You can use native DDS with screens, and mix OCL/CLP together. You can do all sorts of things to make the migration a wee bit easier. The newer tape drives "might" be a problem with older media. Shoot me a private note with any questions. Jerry Draper wrote:
What is the "old" conversion pgm? I have to do one of these next month. What's the best path?
