Bryan,

Never knew about this one. My keyboard is mapped to use CTRL-SCROLL LOCK.
CTRL-PAUSE works also, though.

Thanx,

Nick

RE: Function keys not allowed

Try CTRL - PAUSE for a host print in iSeries Access. It's very handy!

You need the PRINT keyword in your display file's DDS. This can be
assigned at either the File or Record level.

That being said, this seems to only apply to dumb terminals (twinax). I
ran a test on a display that did not have the PRINT keyword. On an
iSeries Access session, IA printed the screen (using the Print key, not
the menu option). The same panel on a twinax device returned the
"Function key not allowed."

There's something that controls whether function keys are allowed in a
program and I forgot what it is, looked for it and can't find it. It's a
simple yes or no. Do you know what it is?

Some of our custom programs return a "Function key not allowed" when
using the print button on a dumb terminal keyboard and some programs
perform the desired host print. I want to enable host printing for all
our programs.

Thanks in advance.
