Joe,

OK I ignored ONE tidbit so as to not complicate things and YOU pick that ONE thing right off! :-)

You CAN License an external user as an internal users. So for $250 each those 1, 2, 3 external users can be covered. If you are going to go past $4K pay the flat fee.

2) External users. Such as customers, partners etc. These users are
activated by purchasing a $4K 'External User Entitlement'. These are
anyone who authenticates to a web application such as a bank customer
checking an account, a customer placing an order.

External users do NOT count against entitled users. 'External User
Entitlement' is required if you have ANY External users.

I still think nobody has a clue how the real world works. The biggest gain
that a company gets from a web interface is to allow occasional use by
customers or affiliates to do simple things that they used to do via a phone
call to customer service. This is the occasional order or status lookup or
whatever.

The external user entitlement means a $4000 flat fee regardless of how many
people I allow on my machine. That's a hunka hunka burnin' cash for a small
business user who needs to allow a couple of external people access, and yet
on the other end of the spectrum, it's a piddling amount for people web
enabling their entire system.

Once again, the pricing model seems to unfairly burden the little guy.
