We have a Treo here for after-hours support use. We use the Mochasoft
5250 emulator for Palm OS to access the system to answer messages and so
on, which works really well most of the time. We do have one problem with
the emulator - if we try to do subfile options in our main dispatch
program, the emulator will hang. Haven't explored the problem yet as it
is not really a big problem for us, but it is worth noting for those
considering this solution.
In terms of security, I believe the Mochasoft emulator can connect over
SSL, so you can have a secure connection from any Internet endpoint that
you can install the software on (assuming you trust the endpoint itself).
