No, use different channels on adjacent APs. So, in your case, set one to 1
and the other to 6. If you add another, make it channel 11. If you add a
fourth, make it the same as the one that is farthest away from where it will
be located.

The client side wireless cards/drivers will scan the different channels (all
of them) looking for the same ESSID. If found, they will use the "strongest"
signal. Obviously, the passkeys need to be set the same. This is how you
attain the ability to transfer from one to other without reconfiguring.
