I think there is some override on OVRPRTF that will allow you to output to
the same spool file with multiple programs. Quite useful if you wanted to
ensure that, when it is printed, that it gets printed as one spool file.
Perhaps you could use this override, write out 1 line with a simple
program, leave the override in place, use the vendor program to generate
the rest of the spool file, drop the override, and let it print.
I don't know if the spool file APIs will allow this kind of manipulation.
Another option is to modify the program generating the spool file to put
the line in there. If your shop has a "modify vendor code only under
extreme circumstances" rule to ensure ease of applying software upgrades
that makes it kind of hard. Or, if you don't have the source.
