Just to be clear, the data my programmer is accessing is defined as a zoned decimal field in DB2/400. The field is 9 digits but a normal return from a query does not return the leading zeros which is what she wants.

If necessary, I think I'll use REXX and SQL since REXX is super at string manipulation.
