I agree that the interface of iNav is pretty deeply flawed - maybe not "deeply", but you know what I mean. It does not use the really good concepts of EITHER Windows or the iSeries. One of my main complaints early on was when working with multiple items out of a list. Windows Explorer, when you right click after selecting several items, presents the Properties dialog - relevant options are enabled, those that do not fit all items are disabled. If you want, you can change everything in one swell foop that applies to all selections.

Similarly, in WRKOUTQ or WRKSPLF especially, you can put a 2 on a bunch of spooled files and put parameters on the command line - voila!! All are changed.

Now try this in iNav - select a number of spooled files under Printer Output and right click to change - you have to repeat the same changes in every one of those you selected. 

Now this would not be so bad, except even M$ knows how to do this. And the model of good UI is so strong from the iSeries. Of course, iNav did not originate at IBM, IIRC, and is still not developed there.

Sheesh!

OK - rant is over. And yes, Rob, I did submit DCRs on this stuff years ago - nothing!! ;-)

And yes, iNav does have some very cool stuff - like you can directly edit - scary - any physical file through the Database section. Better than DFU and just as scary to allow users to do!  :-(
