steer clear of IBM legacy languages.
I second that! RPGII and RPGIII have caused me nothing but heart-ache. I
would probably put smalltalk in that same legacy boat, though my exposure
has been limited so take my recommendation with a grain of salt. Stick
with RPGIV ILE.
Steve, for once you and I agree. IBM legacy languages are just not where
it's at.

I am commenting. being of assistance to my fellow i5 professionals as we
navigate a very tricky technical landscape. use .NET to code and run i5
applications. steer clear of IBM legacy languages.
