5xx boxes all support multiple lpars. Apparently IBM feels that this is
inherently obvious and does not need to be listed here. Feel free to
disagree.
I would not assume a lpar 1. Think licensing. Suppose you had 3 lpars.
And lpar 2 was licensed for your product. If I delete lpar 1 should lpar
2 automatically become lpar 1 and thus invalidate your licensing? No. I
am sure that it has happened once or twice that someone started
configuring a lpar and set up a second one (correctly) and deleted the
first.
Why do you need to default to anything? There are api's available in the
InfoCenter to retrieve the lpar id.
