Well, I wasn't planning on running any twinaxe. Wanted to hook up a PC.
Not even sure what IOP is, or does. :)

Like I said, I'm not a hardware guy. If someone can explain IOP, maybe I'll
just tell them to drop it off the quote.

Yep. We ran into that too, but this is customary for IBM.

As of 28.9.07, orders with the integrated IOP 9844 (i think - it's a
2844) are no longer accepted. If you still need an IOP, you'll have to
pay.

A small model 515, with four disks and no Twinax can work without an
IOP - thus it is not required.

Depending on exact configuration, you might need to have an IOP if
you're using special comm cards etc. I can have a look at your config
if you want. But most probably the problem is Twinax.
