Yep. We ran into that too, but this is customary for IBM.
As of 28.9.07, orders with the integrated IOP 9844 (i think - it's a
2844) are no longer accepted. If you still need an IOP, you'll have to
pay.
A small model 515, with four disks and no Twinax can work without an
IOP - thus it is not required.
Depending on exact configuration, you might need to have an IOP if
you're using special comm cards etc. I can have a look at your config
if you want. But most probably the problem is Twinax.
