Yes, the cert is there - the 'Certificate Status' indicates "This
certificate is OK" and the 'Issuer' information indicates "
CN = Hibbett Local CA

O = Hibbett Sports

L = Birmingham

S = Alabama

C = US

Thanks for your assistance!

Hi Steve,

Assuming you're on WinXP, select Start ? Settings ? Control Panel ?
Internet Options ? Content ? Certificates ? Trusted Root Certification
Authorities and see if your CA is there.

In looking at 'Coummunication / Security Information / View Certificate'
on iSeries Access emulator, I find the following: "Windows does not have
enough information to verify this certificate" and "The issuer of this
certificate could not be found".

I created the certificate in the local CA. Could it be that Windows
doesn't accept my local CA as a valid authority?

Greetings -

I am trying to 'turn on' SSL for Telnet sessions to my system (V5R4M0).
I have succeeded in creating a CA and a certificate and getting the
certificate assigned to my Telnet server so that, in DCM when I "View
Application Definition", it displays my certificate as the "Certificate
Assigned" for "i5/OS TCP/IP Telnet Server".

However, when I attempt to connect using iSeries Access V5R4M0 SI20465,
I get the message
"Failed connecting to secure remote server/host 10.9.20.254 using port
992, error code 414"
which indicates "Incorrectly formatted certificate received from
partner.".

Ideas?

Thanks,

Steve
