I couldn't agree more with that (and what some uneducated and/or uninformed people on this list will no doubt call a 'sweeping generalisation') statement.

In many developers minds (non-Microsoft developers too) Visual Studio, in almost all its versions, has been the 'benchmark' for other IDE/developer environments.

As a developer *using* their 'user' products (either by choice or having to due to corporate 'policy') I too often find then 'wanting' and/or not doing something 'just the way I'd do it'.
