So i've just read through the whole document.
Otherwise, i didn't see much that seems to be interesting to me. So,
what do the rest of you guys think?
disappointing. the system retains its clunkiness. 10 char object names,
16meg user spaces, ILE doesn't reflect like .NET assemblies do Because of
the missing reflection, the RPG programmer has to define prototypes to their
procedures and programs. Which is a duplication of work and limits the
amount of work the IDE can do for a programmer. The RPG enhancements are
good. The downside being they make the language even more RPG like. I think
the language should be less like RPG and more in tune with Java. ( RPG
threading and elimination of the RPG cycle is great news. Would like to know
if RPG programs can now be called recursively. )
The further integration of teraspace is a positive. I suspect
the SLS architecture is more of a hinderance to the system than something
that provides features no other OS has.
