Hmmm. I have not noticed and cannot repeat the stated behaviour in V6R1.
I just tested it again to a V5R3 system from both V5R4 and V6R1 and got
the EXACT same responses.

So at least to other i5/OS Sstems this seems not to be an issue.

From some official IBM documentation:
"FTP changes In V6R1, the FTP client attempts to use Extended Passive Mode

for data connections. This is a change from previous releases. Not all FTP

servers support this new functionality and users might see the FTP550
error before getting the data. You can issue a SENDEPSV command to shut
off this functionality for the current session before issuing any data
command. "

The first thing my coworkers asked me was does i5/OS V5R4 and above
support this as a server, thus they only have to worry about external
servers? Those they have a concern about they can start updating their
ftp scripts now before V6R1 arrives.
