When connecting to a server that supports it, this will ease the burden of running FTP over NAT, especially when using SSL FTP. This has been implemented on FreeBSD for a long time -- it's really good to hear that IBM finally provides it for i5/OS.

Too bad about the extra 550 response, though. I wonder why IBM doesn't suppress that? (Except when debug mode is on, of course.) That way, they could prevent breaking people's existing scripts.
