HelpSystems Console does a great job of this. If you combine it with Alert
you can auto answer one message, page the operator for a second message and
page a programmer for a third message...

Not a good idea. What if you're going to cancel a payroll update job? How
about ending up with one-sided G/L journal entries?
Better to get a tool that wakes up the system operator to make an
intelligent decision.
