I wouldn't say indispensible for day-to-day programming needs, but it is indispensible for non-programming tasks.  It's the WRKxxxPDM user options that are so powerful.  For example, our invoice runs are stored in multi-member files and transmitted to an outside company for printing.  If something goes wrong in the transfer, I can find the appropriate members, key my retransmit option (using F13 if required on a properly filtered WRKMBRPDM) and poof, all done after about 10 seconds of my time.  The old way was CALL TRANSMIT PARM('MBR1234') or some such.

I'm afraid I might lose out the other way, though.  WDSC is indispensible, but it has not caught on with the programming group.  It's possible that a licensing change will eliminate my access to WDSC.  We'll have to wait and see how it fleshes out.

NAMED user licensing will not be good.  CONCURRENT might be doable.
