I apologize for not getting back sooner and I hadn't had a chance to try
some of the suggestions before we did a scheduled IPL on Friday night which
seems to have cleared up the problem which I assume means there was an
"invisible" lock on the profile somewhere (which I'm certain is an arguable
conclusion but feel free to argue it). Not sure but I appreciate EVERYONE'S
responses...

Ok, try this.

1. See if the profile has enough authority to itself. It will need
Object operational and management rights and all data rights including
execute. Without these authorities unexpected results may occur.

2. Find the subsystem running the QZSOSIGN jobs. DSPJOB JOB(QZSOSIGN)
and select an active one. Then take option 1 to see what subsystem the
job is running in. If you have subsystem QUSRWRK started chances are
you will find them there.

3. Work with that subsystem's jobs and end every QZSOSIGN. If they are
pre-start jobs new ones will replace those that end.

I can't change anything in the profile, the message says it says it
cannot allocate the user profile

Maybe the user profile exceeded its maximum storage allowed. If it
isn't *NOMAX try increasing it by a few meg.

I am having trouble with a user profile that has worked for a long time
with no system or security changes. The user enters their user id and
password and then hangs up and the system comes back with a message to
do a wrkactjob and look for QZOSIGNON under QSYSWRK and end it. That
doesn't exist. I went into the user profile to see if it disabled, but
it was not so I tried just typing over the status (for the heck of it),
it too hangs and comes back with a message that says it cannot allocate
that user profile thereby not letting me change anything. Any help would
be appreciated
