Hmm. It took a lightning strike to do yours in? Our old 3180 and 3487
simply died of old age. (I think the flyback on the 3180 shorted out. As
I recall, whatever it was, the fuse on that one didn't just blow; it
exploded.)
But you're right about real terminals being cheap. Over the years, we've
managed to pick up a nice 3489, and an amber 3477, and a twinax
Yestation (which we chose specifically because we wanted to feed it
through a KVM switch).
Just out of morbid curiosity, are there any LCD monitors these days that
actually look GOOD with a 3489? The one or two we tried a few years ago,
if they worked at all, looked like scat.
