Which is usually caused by the ISV, not by Windows. Either way, this
is why i recommended you to use Process Monitor to figure out what is
broken - i seriously doubt it's caused by System i Access, as we never
had any issues that looked like this.

Yes and no. V6R1 Access was updated to finally use MSI technology -
which is a good move, theoretically, but it seems that whoever did
develop this didn't really know what they were doing. At least they're
not alone - most applications not made by Microsoft (and even some
made by Microsoft) have heavily flawed and broken installers.
