Yuck! That would be worse than running MS Access from a Citrix server.

Or, are you saying "server based" to say 5250 or nothing?

I like 5250 for development. I like CL commands, PDM, and STRDBG. SEU is so, so; I can live with it. But that's not to say 5250 or nothing.

I just came across one of my Midrange List posts from 2001 in which I stated a personal goal of coming up with a browser interface that was as easy to develop and as efficient as 5250, and I'm still working on it. AJAX was a big leap forward. The majority of my applications are browser based, and I think the browser has good potential as an interfaces for server-based developer tools, too.
