Well, you could write a virtual terminal program that effectively intercepts the data stream, scans for the unwanted display attributes, and replaces them with something you find more appealing. Note that a simple search-and-replace will not suffice. You will need to parse the 5250 data stream and replace ONLY those bytes that are attribute bytes.

Seems like an awful lot of work for very little gain.
